Log In And Create Your Blog
Quick Start Guide to Blogging
1. Go to Blogs.psu.edu
Click on the "Log in" button on the right side of the page.
2. Create a Blog
Select "Blog" under the "Create" navigation button.

In the subsequent page, choose out your Blog Name, Template Set, and Protected status. Typing in a Blog Name will automatically fill out the site's URL and Root.
3. Change Title/Add Description
In the corresponding areas of the next page, you can change the blog's title, enter a description of your blog, and choose the time zone in which your posts will be published. Click "Save Changes" when finished, followed by "Publish" to make your edits live on the Internet. There is also a "Publish" icon at the top of the Moveable Type navigation that looks like two arrows. Publishing your site makes all of your saved changes live.
4. Pick Your Style
Select "Styles" under the "Design" drop-down navigation item.

This will redirect you to a page where you can choose a visual template for your blog. Select a category of templates, then a specific template, and then click "Apply Design" to change your site's design.
5. Create Blog Entries and Add Tags
Click "Write Entry" button at the top of the page to create a new blog entry. Make a title, write content, and add tags that describe the entry's content.
6. Add Pages
Create a new page by selecting "Page" under the "Create" navigation menu option.
Adding the tag "@topnav" to a page creates a new tab on your site that links to this page.
7. Edit Existing Pages
Go to "Manage" and select "Pages" from the top navigation to get a list of your site's pages. Select the page you wish to edit, and it will open. Be sure to click "Save" when you are done making changes.
8. Upload Files and Personalize Your Banner
To add files, go to "Upload File" under the "Create" navigation menu item. Choose your desired file and select upload. To create a personalized banner, add the tag @banner before saving your file. Visit

9. Publish Your Blog
Click the "Publish" icon for all of your changes to take effect.
